“We Got 60,000 Hours Of ‘Unreleased Footage of Jan 6 Riot'”: Times Reporter Speculates Whether Jan 6 Riot Was “Set up by the FBI”

In an interview with CNN’s Jim Acosta on Sunday, reporter Robert Draper of New York Times Magazine disclosed the Republican Party’s pathetic attempt to rewrite history on January 6, 2021.

‘Antifa Kind of Violence’

Regarding the mock-hearing, Draper remarked, “It was like being in an upside-down world.” “And also, Jim, their narratives shapeshift, you know, even within a matter of seconds. Either the Jan. 6th — what took place there was basically peaceful, or it was violent but an Antifa kind of violence, or it was set up by the FBI, thus a feds problem. Basically, their point of view is that they are politically persecuted. There is a two-tier system of justice, but it’s not the well-off whites versus people of color. It’s the ruling class versus Trump supporters.”

Republicans Still Clinging Onto the Same Ol’ Narrative

Republicans have been working feverishly to recycle this narrative on a number of issues, including Trump’s indictment—for which he says he is being persecuted—and Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) weaponization of government proceedings.

Draper cautioned against seeing Republicans as desperate conspiracy theorists attempting to seize control of the House GOP. Some of them are already attempting to intimidate the DOJ into dropping their case.

Republicans Branded as the Tail That Wags the Dog

“They are much like the far-right that really controls the action in the House of Representatives,” he stated. “They are the tail that wags the dog in terms of the fact that 58 percent of Republicans now believe that the peaceful demonstration aptly describes what took place on Jan. 6th rather than violent insurrection.”

Sandy Hook Shooting May Have Never Happened at All

Prior to facing termination from Fox News, Tucker Carlson disclosed carefully cropped images of deserted corridors and a handful of “protesters.” Carlson was given access to 44,000 hours of video from several cameras in an attempt to produce a story that differed from the one that viewers on Jan. 6 live on television saw. It’s a strategy somewhat different from Alex Jones’s assertion that the Sandy Hook massacre was either faked or never took place.

Trump and DeSantis May Pardon Jan 6th Defendants

It is Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) refusal to allow the public to view the full footage online. “The two leading candidates for the Republican nomination, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, both have indicated they may give pardons to Jan. 6th defendants. They are shaping that initiative regardless of what one thinks of their views. They’ve attained a certain significance.”

Republican Loyalists Stick To Argument of Jan 6 Video Being Tampered With

According to Acosta, some individuals may be viewed authentic recordings and yet perceive the assailants on January 6 as the victims. “Well, because it fits into a greater narrative of persecution that a lot of Trump supporters feel about themselves and the former president,” Draper said. He claimed that Republican partisans think the videos have been tampered with, even if they are shown in their entirety.

‘That Video Is Very, Very Skewed’

Draper added, “I have a video that beats your video,” as an additional justification. “It’s, you know, that video is very, very skewed. You are just talking about one area. Essentially again, their excuses shapeshift. Overall, the narrative is the same, which is that what President Trump says goes and what he says was that it was a peaceful, loving protest.”

Far-Right’s Plans for Trump’s Classified Documents

He clarified that while some establishment Republicans fervently hope that the topic never be brought up again, it seems the far-right intends to run on January 6, 2024, in light of Trump’s confidential materials and the 2020 election fraud.

The Ruling Class Versus Trump Supporters

The reporter further added, “Basically, their point of view is that they are politically persecuted. There is a two-tier system of justice, but it’s not the well-off whites versus people of color. It’s the ruling class versus Trump supporters.”

Gaetz’s Version

Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida hosted a 30-minute session that the reporter described as essentially a hearing. Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio popularized one of the most widely used justifications, which is the weaponization of government. The storyline around the elections is strengthened by this hearing.

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-la) Joins the Effort

Rep. Clay Higgins, R-Louisiana, has now joined the push for increased openness. Speaking on Thursday on the right-wing podcast “The Benny Show,” Higgins stated that he is calling for the publication of the video. He estimated the amount to be closer to 60,000 hours of video, which implies that Tucker Carlson, the former host of Fox, missed out on a significant portion of it.

Higgins stated, “I’m one of the ones pushing for the release of all the J6 video, by the way.” “We got 60,000 hours of video from Jan. 4, 5 and 6 — I want it all released to the American people so that we can crowdsource that investigation.”

“FBI Fingerprints All Over It!”

He proceeds to assert that the films bear “FBI fingerprints all over it,” implying that the incident was manufactured. “I refuse to believe this narrative, which I’ve even heard from some of my colleagues, that the Capitol or Congressmen would be in risk in any way as a result of the publication of all that footage. That’s crazy, man.”
