Amid these legal proceedings, former U.S. Attorney Harry Litman weighed in with an intriguing speculation. Litman suggested that Jeffrey Clark might have intentionally chosen not to attend the hearing because he was “planning on losing” his effort to transfer the trial to federal court.

The Internet’s Response

News of Sadow’s hushed remark was shared across the internet and people flocked to comment sections to give their views. One person said: “They should stress more about the fact that they are defending a liar, traitor, and a really nasty excuse for a man who deserves to be in prison.”

They Should Be Stressing

Another commenter wrote: “They should be stressing. Remember that most, if not all, of the witnesses for the prosecution are either ex-White House staff for Trump, Republicans, or ex-lawyers that worked for Trump.”

Dealing With a Child

Others said they were impressed that Trump’s lawyers are merely expressing concern, as opposed to “losing their minds.” One person said: “At this point, Trump’s lawyers should be losing their minds dealing with this child.”

The Hearing in Question

Some people commented on the hearing in question. One individual wrote: “None of the defendants should have the right to move their case to federal court. The charges are from the state of GA and GA is where the crime took place. No transfers.”

Time to Face Reality

Echoing the aforementioned commenter, another wrote: “None of these cases are getting moved to Federal court, where the defendants think they will get a more favorable judge. It’s time to deal with reality, Trumpers.”

A Complete Psychopath

Most commenters simply discussed Donald Trump’s presidency and legal situation. One person said: “Trump [was] a laughing stock as president during his term. The worst president since Hoover. Worst record in 100 years. Most lying, played the most golf, lost the most jobs, supported dictators, got impeached two times, and now arrested and indicted. A complete idiot psychopath.”

Hitler, Trump, and Populism

Another commenter said: “How can anyone not see through this man? How have his followers been so blind? It just amazes me and not in a good way. Folks will write books about him and, sadly, will compare him to Hitler in how he used populism to gain support.”

Lawyers and Trump

Others couldn’t wrap their heads around why any lawyer would want to defend Trump. “What thought processes does a lawyer go through when deciding to become a Trump lawyer?” one individual asked.

The Words Client

Echoing the previously mentioned commenter, another said: “Possibly the worst client to have to defend. Why any lawyer with a reputation of any note would take Trump on as a client at this point is an enigma.”

A House of Cards

Some people discussed the former president’s tendency to throw others under the bus to protect himself. “Trump’s house of cards is collapsing right before his eyes. One by one, they will all try to save themselves,” one commenter said. “Who would blame them? Every last one of them knows Trump would throw them under the bus without even thinking about it,” another replied.

Destroying Careers, Futures, and Lives

The aforementioned commenter continued: “[Trump] is all about himself and he would sacrifice anyone he feels might tell the truth about his actions! Line up, men and women, destroy your pact with the Devil and save yourselves, knowing he would do nothing but destroy you, your career, your future, your entire life!”

Behind Closed Doors

Another said: “His lawyers know they’ve messed up at this point. They must do. They must’ve been out of their minds taking him on as a client – or they just wanted publicity. I bet Sadow and others say a lot more than that behind closed doors.”

Great for America

Others celebrated the lawyer’s remark. “Anything that’s ‘not good’ for any of Trump’s co-conspirators is great for America,” one person said. “Fantastic. His lawyers aren’t even hiding it anymore. They’re done,” another wrote.

A MAGA Perspective

A minority of people left comments in support of the former president – but these comments usually lacked substance and mostly consisted of calls for people to vote for Trump and accusations of center-right politicians being “communists,” “socialists,” and “Marxists” – a worrying indication of how far-right these individuals really are. One Trump supporter said: “Re-elect Trump 2024. America needs him. He loves America, unlike the lying fool now in the White House!”
