“The Sight of This Woman Makes Me ill”: Nancy Pelosi Echoes Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Speech on Biden

It’s not often that two people with very different political opinions actually agree – but it does happen. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene have unexpectedly found themselves echoing each other in their respective speeches about President Joe Biden.

The Importance of Effective Communication

Pelsoi was interviewed by CNN, where she praised President Biden’s accomplishments and referred to his performance as “remarkable.” She also said he needs to “make sure the American people know” about the economic benefits of his political intentions.

Pelosi said: “This president did such a remarkable job. He is a person of such knowledge, such vision for the country, such knowledge of the issues, such strategic thinking, and such a legislator, and — on top of it all – a person who connects with the American people.”

Drawing Historical Parallels

Nancy Pelosi did not stop at mere praise; she went on to draw comparisons between President Biden’s legislative achievements and those of notable past presidents, such as Lyndon B. Johnson and Franklin D. Roosevelt. She praised Biden’s politics for aligning with the transformative policies championed by these iconic historical figures.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Unintended Praise

Surprisingly, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s speech, which was intended as a critique of President Biden, inadvertently turned into a compliment. Like Pelosi, Greene said that Biden’s legislative achievements placed him on par with legendary presidents like Johnson and Roosevelt, who had also championed policies for the betterment of the American people. This unexpected praise garnered attention, with even Ted Lieu acknowledging it as a significant compliment.

Pelosi’s Focus on Trump and McCarthy

In her interview, Pelosi also devoted a significant portion of her discussion to former President Trump. In response to her successor, Kevin McCarthy, raising concerns about expunging Trump’s two impeachments, Pelosi criticized him for playing politics and questioned the constitutional feasibility of such an action. Pelosi believed that McCarthy was putting his party members, particularly those facing challenging reelections, in a difficult position and characterized it as an irresponsible move.

Pelosi said: “Kevin is, you know, playing politics. It is not even clear if he constitutionally can expunge those things. If he wants to put his members on the spot, his members in difficult races on the spot, that is a decision he has to make. But this is not responsible.”

Elise Stefanik and Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a bill aimed at expunging Donald Trump’s impeachments from 2019 and 2021. Greene argued that, as lawmakers, they possessed the ability to undertake unprecedented actions and asserted that the impeachments were a source of embarrassment and a stain on the nation’s history.

The Internet’s Response

News of the similarities between Pelosi’s and Greene’s speeches was shared across the internet and opinions were divided. “Biden is doing great, especially considering what he inherited,” one commenter wrote.

The Wrong People in Power

Some people criticized both Greene and Pelosi. One person said: “Two wrongs don’t make a right. Pelosi and Greene are two examples of when the wrong people have too much power. Pelosi ran a daily clown show in Congress and that’s pretty apparent by the state our country’s in right now.”

Waking America Up

The commenter continued: “Greene, much like Pelosi, is primarily interested in herself. We better wake up as a country and start to see that there are brilliant and talented legislators on both sides of the aisle and we need to look for common ground before we lose our country.”

Biden and Mental Decline

Others referenced President Biden’s alleged mental decline. “The vast majority of this country, regardless of party, are concerned about the mental fitness of the person [Pelosi is] so highly raving about. We need term limits and hard age limits for all political positions.”

The Jan 6th Capitol Attack

Some people discussed the Jan 6th Capitol attack. “The one person who holds a greater responsibility for the events of January 6th is clinging to power as long as she can. [Pelosi] knows if she leaves office the truth will emerge about her refusal to use the National Guard to protect the Capitol building,” one individual wrote.

A Much Harsher Response

Others, also discussing Pelosi, were much harsher with their words. One person said: “The sight of this woman makes me ill. The sound of her voice makes me want to [vomit]. The things she has done or failed to do just make me wonder how anyone, even in her own district, could possibly vote for her.”

More Criticism for Pelosi

The criticism kept on coming. Someone else wrote: “It would be nice if [Pelosi] had retired like she said. Well, that was just a lie. She never planned to retire in the first place. She couldn’t build her wealth without the inside information for trading.”

Praise for Pelosi

Despite the negativity, Pelosi did receive some praise too. “Democrats have always been proud of Speaker Pelosi. Rightfully so and we always will be,” one person said. “Pelosi ain’t perfect but she’s better than literally any Republican I can think of,” another added.

The Far-Right and Fascism

Others expressed concern about the right’s apparent approval of fascism. One commenter wrote: “What has happened to the real Republicans? You people are scary. If you don’t like democracy… get out! Plenty of countries with dictators. We won’t be one of them!”

Criticism of Marjorie Taylor Greene

Greene received her fair share of criticism too. One person said: “[Greene is] one of the biggest and best liars in the House today. I certainly hope that the people of Georgia do not elect her for another term. Dumber than a box of rocks.”

A Great Compliment

Another individual wrote: “If Greene ever attended a history class – you know, that thing she is so afraid of they want to ban it – she would have known all the good things [Roosevelt] did for the people and that she gave Biden a great compliment.”
