After the senator from Utah verbally attacked Coppins regarding Trump and other Republican officials, the former president took to Truth Social to disparage Romney, calling him “a total loser that only a mother could love,” among other things.
Coppins Reveals Texts With Mitt
In an interview with Vanity Fair’s Brian Stelter on Thursday for the Inside the Hive podcast, Coppins disclosed Romney’s reaction to Trump’s tirade. ‘I sent that statement to Mitt and hold on, I want to, I’ll just pull up the text,’ Coppins said. ‘He wrote back, “Ha, ha, ha. He’s such a whack job.” Mitt thus seemed to like Trump’s response.
Trump’s Critique of Mitt’s Autobiography
Trump erroneously claimed that Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee and senator from Utah, had written an autobiography in a series of postings on Truth Social that he devoted to the senator while traveling to New Hampshire on Monday to formally put his name to the GOP primary ballot.
