Even though President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are “taking the air out of everything” in the run-up to next year’s presidential election, former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said that moderate politicians like Sen. Joe Manchin might stand out in the 2024 presidential contest.

When asked if there was a candidate who could “bring the type of leadership that’s needed right now” on “Meet the Press,” Arnold Schwarzenegger said that he thought contenders other than Biden and Trump weren’t given enough of an opportunity. “Joe Manchin is one of them that I think stands out because he’s kind of like a center guy. He comes from an energy state, but he’s a Democrat, so he knows the challenges and all that,” he further remarked. He said that there are “many others” who might concentrate on compromise.

The American political system, according to Schwarzenegger, is currently “set up in such a way that Trump is kind of like taking the air out of everything, and Biden is doing it on the other side.” It basically boils down to them both seeking the presidency. As the current president, Biden is expected to be the Democratic nominee for president in 2024, while Trump has long led the large field of Republican contenders in local and national surveys.

The movie actor, who was born in Austria, stressed that he is focused on working with leaders from both parties and urged other elected figures to follow suit. However, he is not eligible to run for president. “I have the ability of talking about issues without villainizing the other side because there’s people that think differently than I do,” he remarked. “But they’re not evil. They’re not terrible people. They’re good people that mean well, so therefore I would say we have to be able to bring people together and let everyone know they are very important to be part of the team. “

When asked if he would compete for the Senate seat that Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, had previously held, Schwarzenegger did not duck the subject, responding that “running for any office is not even in the game” for his political future.

‘Reality Is That I Can Be Helpful to Help Other People’

Prior to this, Schwarzenegger declared that he would “love” to be able to run for president. He was born in Austria, where he resided until the age of 19, therefore technically speaking, he is unable to run for president. “I would love to run for president. I would love to have the opportunity to do that and to show America that we can come together, and to do the kind of things that Ronald Reagan did. But that’s not the case. [The] case is, the reality is that I can be helpful to help other people.”

Schwarzenegger’s Remarks About Manchin as Potential 2024 Candidate Send a Clear Message

In a time when political leaders are frequently judged on their capacity to reconcile opposing points of view, Schwarzenegger’s comments on Manchin’s candidacy for 2024 deliver a strong message. It seems that the previous governor is in favor of a more centrist and consensus-oriented style of government.

Joe Manchin Endorsement Acts as Food for Thought for Dems and Reps

Republicans and Democrats alike should take note of Schwarzenegger’s support for Joe Manchin as the 2024 presidential contest approaches. It draws attention to the continuous hunt for leaders capable of navigating the tumultuous seas of American politics and fostering unity in a nation that, as Schwarzenegger implies, has been severely lacking in new ideas in recent years.

Manchin’s decision to run in 2024 is still up in the air, but his name is now being examined by people seeking a more moderate option to the divisive candidates who have dominated previous elections. The support of Arnold Schwarzenegger could encourage more debate and introspection about the direction of American politics.

He remarked before that the Constitution stands as the primary barrier between the Oval Office and Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to the Independent, the actor doesn’t think there’s an issue with the competition right now. “I think the field was wide open in 2016. And I think the field is open right now,” Schwarzenegger remarked, asking, “I mean, who is there? It just isn’t possible for one individual to unite everyone.” The remarks were made by the former California governor, a Republican, on an episode of ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’

‘Look, It’s a No-Brainer’

However, Schwarzenegger did not comply with the US Constitution’s provision that a president be a “natural-born citizen” of the US because he was born in Austria. In 1968, he moved to the US, and in 1983, he obtained citizenship. According to the Hill, Schwarzenegger acknowledged that winning the presidency in 2024 is a distant goal. “Look, it’s a no-brainer,” he informed the host. “I see so clearly how I could win that election.”
