Looking back, Barr shared her regrets about a tweet she posted in May 2018. At the helm of ABC Entertainment, Bob Iger didn’t take long to respond to the backlash. This led to the tough decision to cancel her beloved show.

The TV series ‘Roseanne’ held a special place in many viewers’ hearts. It showcased a working-class family’s everyday challenges and triumphs in Lanford, Illinois. A few months after the controversial tweet, Roseanne Barr sat down for an interview on Fox News to clear the air. Addressing the controversy surrounding Valerie Jarrett, she expressed regret and told the interviewer, “I’m so sorry that you thought I was racist and that you thought my tweet was racist because it wasn’t. It was political.” She emphasized her unawareness of Jarrett’s racial background, a focal point of the backlash.

In her candid chat with Donald Trump Jr. on the podcast, Barr discussed the aftermath of the tweet. Barr didn’t stop at discussing her own termination. She further alleged that her firing served a dual purpose for ABC Entertainment. According to her, the public dismissal acted as a smokescreen to divert attention from other internal controversies within the company. She accused them of leveraging her situation to overshadow other scandals.

Opinions on Democrats

In her discussion with Trump Jr., she took a moment to voice her concerns about the Democratic party. She criticized their policies, particularly targeting those that affect the economically challenged. She exclaimed, “This no longer happens due to the stupid laws established by classist Democrats,” suggesting that the party’s policies stop people from progressing.

Racism and Classism

In the same conversation, she touched upon the overlapping themes of racism and classism. She expressed her belief that discriminatory practices based on economic status often have racial undertones. Urging a rethink in political views, she said, “Part of classism is racism.” Following this, Barr encouraged black and Jewish communities to reconsider their support for Democrats.

Some stood up for Barr’s right to express her beliefs despite the backlash. One defender mentioned, “”She’s entitled to her opinion. It’s not as if she’s promoting a blood libel, like MSM, who peddles terrorist lies. Al-Ahli Hospital was bombed by a Jihadist group, AKA ‘the other team,’ or as Joe puts it, ‘can’t shoot straight.’ Confirmed by US intelligence, yet Newsweek and many other media outlets continue to cast shadows on the facts.”

Dilution of the Term ‘Racist’

Some users went into a broader discussion about the things Barr talked about and defended her. One user said, “The capital, the term ‘racist’ once held, has plummeted to zero due to Leftist hoaxes and usage of the term in every aspect of society. ‘Alarm clocks, milk, lumber, asphalt, Smollett, NASCAR… Blame yourselves. Yet, the Leftists are unable to see this, which indicates an even greater problem.”

Aftermath of Show’s Cancellation

Some of the reactions focused on what happened after Barr’s exit from her show. One user commented, “I loved how when she got canceled off her own show and her “friends” on the cast stabbed her in the back. John Goodman showed his true colors. Funny how her top-rated show didn’t last long when she left. Except for Goodman, I haven’t seen any of the former cast on anything. Karma!”

Perceptions on Comedians

However, some users also criticized people’s reactions to these statements. One user quipped, “‘The comedian,’ I guess liberals lack a sense of humor and take comedians seriously. Look at who they vote for.” Other users agreed, saying, “She is right! They are drones” regarding Barr’s comments on Democrat voters.
