Coulter was speaking to Patrick Bet-David on a podcast. “One thing I’ve noticed about presidents is we tend to go back and forth. I mean, it’s like me going back and forth on boyfriends – the smart, ugly one and the good-looking, stupid one,” she said.
Marbles in Their Mouth Presidents
Coulter went on to say that voters go back and forth between very articulate presidents and less articulate presidents. She said: “You just keep going back and forth, back and forth. And the voters similarly seem to go back and forth between highly articulate presidents and marbles in their mouth presidents.”
Unbelievably Articulate Reagan
The pundit elaborated on her statement, describing Ronald Reagan as “unbelievably articulate” before discussing the presidents who came after him. She described the pattern, going from articulate, to not articulate, to articulate, and so on.
Trump’s Tiny Vocabulary
Coulter said: “So Reagan – unbelievably articulate. I mean, it drove Democrats crazy. And then we get marbles in his mouth, George Bush one. Then we get Mr. Smooth, Bill Clinton and oh, melts in your mouth. And then we go from there to other marbles in your mouth, Bush to – oh my gosh – the most articulate president we’ve probably ever had, Barack Obama, to Trump, who has a vocabulary of about 50 words.”
Supporting Ron DeSantis
Coulter previously thought Ron DeSantis would be very successful before realizing he’s “not a showman on the debate stage.” According to her, DeSantis is “head and shoulders above every other GOP presidential candidate, or politician, on the three most important issues – immigration, crime, and the COVID response.”
Trump vs. DeSantis
The pundit has compared DeSantis and Trump before, claiming that the former does better when it comes to crime. She’s also referred to Trump as a “gigantic baby” who can “barely speak English.” Trump called her a “wacky nutjob.”
Trump Had Four Years
In response to Coulter’s words, Bet-David defended Trump. The pundit hit back: “You sound like a battered woman making excuses. ‘Well, maybe he won’t hit me next time.’ He had four years, Patrick. Four years! Two with a Republican Congress.”
