Retired Four-Star General Barry McCaffrey has shared a worrisome warning about what could happen if Trump is reelected.
Looking At History
Speaking to MSNBC, McCaffrey looked back at history, paying particularly close attention to nations that fell into autocracy. He said: “The next time around, if you decapitate the institutions – the FBI, the CIA, Homeland Security – and put loyalists without a sense of respect for the law in there, we could be in trouble.”
America Should Be Worried
McCaffrey continued: “There’s always an assumption – that couldn’t happen here. The 1930s Germany was a civilized nation that descended into autocracy, so we better worry about it.”
A Danger to the Republic
“Trump is a leading contender and this is not a political statement. He’s entirely unqualified to be the commander-in-chief. He’s a danger to the republic – and that’s where we stand,” the retired general added.
A President Lacking Character
McCaffrey went on to say, “To have a president, an ignorant man of the first order… we were vulnerable to having a president in office with immense authority who truly lacked any character.”

Speaking to CNN, Cohen – a former Maine Senator – said: “I think we have a lot to fear with a possible reelection or election of Donald Trump. Donald Trump is the Founding Fathers’ worst nightmare.”
Mark Milley’s Worries
Mark Milley worsened Cohen’s fears, telling friends that Trump – if reelected – would “start throwing people in jail.” Reportedly, Miley feared he’d be one of those people. Cohen agreed with these concerns.
