“Another Insane Businessman Just Like Trump”: Vivek Ramaswamy Says the Truth About 9/11 Is Still Unknown

Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy has claimed that the truth about 9/11 is still unknown. Moreover, he said he doesn’t “believe everything the government has told us about that day.”

Ramaswamy said: “A comedian podcaster asked me if 9/11 was an inside job or exactly as the government tells us. I answered truthfully. I do not believe everything the government has told us about that day.”

The presidential hopeful elaborated, adding that he was talking about “the very real possibility, supported by recently declassified documents, that al-Qaida’s attack was undertaken with support from Saudi intelligence officials.”

Rebuilding Public Trust

Ramaswamy went on to note that it’s in the “national interest to move on from 9/11,” highlighting the importance of a “stable relationship with Saudi Arabia.” He continued: “But our best chance of rebuilding public trust is to acknowledge the truth about one of the defining events in our nation’s history.”

Some Very Bold Claims

The entrepreneur then made some very bold claims about government officials: “These events are important foremost because U.S. government officials continue to lie about other matters of public importance – the origin of COVID-19, knowledge about UAPs, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and so on – with a complicit media that just accepts the prevailing narrative without question.”

We Can Handle It

Talking to The Atlantic about the supposed “truth” regarding 9/11, Ramaswamy said: “Whatever it is, we can handle it. Government agents. How many government agents were in the field? Right? I think it is legitimate to say how many police, how many federal agents, were on the planes that hit the Twin Towers.”

Maybe the Answer Is Zero

Continuing, he said: “Maybe the answer is zero. It probably is zero for all I know, right? If we’re doing a comprehensive assessment of what happened on 9/11, we have a 9/11 commission, absolutely that should be an answer the public knows the answer to.”

Nowhere Near Trump

While Ramaswamy is a GOP presidential hopeful, he’s nowhere near Trump in the polls. Discussing the former president’s absence from debates, the entrepreneur said: “This is my chance to introduce myself to the country and so I have no issue with whatever decision he wants to make. If he’s on there, great. If not, I’m fine with that.”

Not a Coward

Despite the aforementioned statement, Ramaswamy previously said: “I fully expect to see Donald Trump on that debate stage. It is my expectation Trump will be there because, as I’ve known him, he’s not a man that I know of to be afraid. He’s not somebody who’s made a habit of himself to be a coward.”

The Internet’s Response

News of Ramaswamy’s controversial statement was shared across the internet and people rushed to comment sections to share their views. For the most part, they either made fun of the entrepreneur or condemned him. Some even went as far as to call him “dangerous.”

A Boyish Charm

One social media commenter said: “This guy is crazy and it’s scarier because he has a boyish charm and is charismatic. Lots of religious Republicans are prone to magical thinking and they’ll buy any old conspiracy theory.”

A Spineless Clown

Others were much harsher with their words: “Vivek is an idiot and a clown. A spineless, brainless loser whose main goal, currently, is to be Trump’s VP while personally enriching himself on the current ‘populist’ wave. Every time that clown opens his mouth, he spouts some new, more outrageous thing to attract attention, just like Trump in 2016.”

No Sane Choices

Another commenter wrote: “So much for him being a sane alternative to Trump and DeSantis. Imagine being a billionaire who wants to fund a Republican candidate to keep taxes low and regulations on your business unenforced… but you don’t want to sponsor a complete crazy who might jeopardize the stability that your wealth relies on. All you get are crazies, with no sane choices. Who are you going to spend money on?”

A Bag Full of Conspiracies

One person said they’d never vote for a conspiracy theorist. “Why would I vote for someone who has a bag full of conspiracies about what everyone saw on TV that day? How dare he bring up things he does not know anything about,” they wrote.

Questioning Ramaswamy’s Intelligence

Quite a few commenters questioned Ramaswamy’s intelligence. One such individual said: “One thing I will never be able to figure out is how morons like Ramaswamy become super wealthy. Doesn’t one have to be at least somewhat smart to do that?”

Time and Money

Plenty of people implied that Ramaswamy, with no chance of winning the GOP presidential nomination, should drop out of the race. “This guy is wasting his time and his donors’ money,” one individual wrote.

The Cult of Orange

Others, given his wild claims, compared Ramaswamy to MAGA conspiracy theorists. One commenter wrote: “Great! Just what America needs. Another Cult of Orange conspiracist running for office.”

Learning From Mistakes

One person even said that the 9/11 comments alone make Ramaswamy unviable in regard to the presidency: “Well, that pretty much disqualifies him. What we don’t need in the White House is another fruit cake. We made that mistake in 2016 and learned our lesson.”

A Dangerous Businessman

Some people discussed the parallels between Ramaswamy and Trump. One commenter wrote: “Another insane businessman just like Trump, except with a bit more charisma. This guy could be really, really dangerous.”
